Dr. Ash (as his patients and colleagues call him with love) is double board certified in Interventional Pain Management and Emergency Medicine. He has been practicing for more than 20 years and has worked in a variety of settings from academic tertiary care hospital centers to clinics in rural Egypt, and has participated in educating hundreds of physicians and other health care workers in addition to health care administration and implementation of cutting edge technology in medicine as well as health care policy.
He started his journey in the sciences at a young age, having attended the world famous Bronx High School of Science and Stuyvesant High School, where he was a semi finalist in the Westinghouse Science Competition.
From there he matriculated to the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, where he got a foundation in epidemiology and primary care in minority communities.
After this he attended and obtained his MD from the prestigious Icahn Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1999. He went on to complete an Emergency Medicine Residency from the Brooklyn Hospital Center, the first Emergency Medicine residency in Brooklyn.
He was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate and a core faculty Attending at Kings County Hospital from 2003-2009.
After this he went into private practice, where he developed 2 separate urgent care networks and obtained his license in medical acupuncture.
He completed a clinical intervention spine fellowship at the respected Manhattan Pain Fellowship at the Comprehensive Spine and Pain of New York from 2018-2019 and was board certified in 2022.
He is now the executive Director of Pain and Spine Specialists of New York, where he performs the latest MIS spine procedures, advanced neuromodulation, and the most advanced orthobiologics and regenerative medicine procedures in Brooklyn.
