Dr Tania Barroso

Dr. Barroso is originally from Puerto Rico. She studied medicine at the University of Puerto Rico, graduating magna cum laude. Following her medical degree, she completed an internship in internal medicine through Mount Sinai Medical School at Cabrini Medical Center. Dr. Barroso then pursued her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Emory School of Medicine. With a deep commitment to serving veterans, she worked at the Veterans Medical Center for 14 years, where she frequently performed trigger point injections, prolotherapy injections, and ultrasound-guided injections to help veterans manage their pain. She has a special interest in treating musculoskeletal conditions, drawing from her background in dancing. Dr. Barroso also has a keen interest in natural and alternative methods to treat pain, focusing on overall wellbeing. While at the VA, Dr. Barroso served as an Assistant Professor at Emory, mentoring PM&R residents. She is a proud member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR).

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Barroso enjoys spending time with her family and driving her kids all over town for their extracurricular activities. She loves exercising, being outdoors, and traveling.
